During my time working with a PR agency and now as a full-time freelancer, I’ve had the chance to work with some interesting companies.

From cool tech products to ground-breaking software that is making a huge difference in the world to fun apps that can be extremely useful in our everyday life – it makes the work I do very interesting.

Every now and then, I’d like to highlight a new piece of technology I’ve come across on my blog in an attempt to share it with whoever stumbles upon my website.

First up is Trunkit.

Trunkit – The Mobile App for trunk-sharing

Trunkit is a trunk-sharing application that was created in British Columbia, Canada.

This app (available on Android and Apple) allows you to find someone who has an empty trunk, truck or trailer who is able to move an object for you. If you have a package in Point A but need to get it to Point B safely and securely, then this is the perfect way to do it. You’ll avoid high shipping prices and you won’t have to worry about it getting banged around in one warehouse to the next.

If you’re a driver who has an empty trunk (or truck, or trailer), you can post your trip so others can inquire about filling your empty space. This will off-set any travel cost and might allow you to make a little extra cash (along with helping someone out)!

Trunkit’s easy-to-use platform connects the person who needs an item moved with the person who is able to move it through a safe portal that you will love. When done correctly, this is a major Win-Win for both sides.

So, in short:

Person A has a package he needs to move from Point A to Point B.

Person B is traveling from Point A to Point B.

Person B posts their trip on the Trunkit platform.

Person A and Person B are connected. Person A’s package gets from Point A to Point B, courtesy of Person B’s trunk/truck/trailer. Person A saves money on shipping fees and Person B earns extra cash to balance out the travel fees.

I have had the chance to work alongside Greg and his two sons (the founders and creators of Trunkit) over the last few months. So far, we were able to land a few placements, including this great feature on Driving.ca.
